3. Write/publish an original first book: Alphabet, Counting, or Concept

a.      Decide which type of first book you’d like to write.

You might have already written a first book during tutorials in DUE201 or in other modules or on your own. If yes, just tweak it a bit to suit this e-learning task.

b.      Identify a theme or concept, i.e. cities around the world, means of transportation.

c.       Write your first book covering 20 - 26 pages of  the manuscript proper. Why so many pages?  Each page of a first book usually has one or two sentences only. You could use rhymed verses, instead of sentences. (A counting book usually includes numbers 1 – 10 only, but one number takes up 2 pages including illustrations.)

No, you don’t have to worry about illustrations. Not now.

d.      Follow this format:

Type of First Book: __________________________________________

Theme or Concept: __________________________________________

Title: ______________________________________________________

Manuscript:

      Pages 1-2  _________________________________________________
                      __________________________________________________

      Pages 3-4 __________________________________________________
                       __________________________________________________

And so on…  Actually, you won’t need 20 pages. The entire manuscript
of  your first book could use only 2-3 pages of A4 paper.

e.       Post your first book here  (The copyright to your original manuscript belongs to you and you alone.)
